Communication/Connection problems
An error message about retraction or insertion of the camera in GMS (Digital Micrograph) can point towards a communication/connection problem to the hardware controller. It typically comes together with an IP-address in the error message (siehe example screen shots).
If this is the case, try the following procedure:
- Accept the error message and close GMS
- Go to the bottom rack behind the monitors (behind the table)
- Open the front door of the rack (push the two lock mechanisms towards the center and remove the door)
- At the very bottom is the Gatan controller for the OneView camera
- Hold a finger on the blue lighting Gatan logo (it is a sensor button, not a mechanical button) --> the controller will switch off
- Wait a few seconds and re-start the controller (finger on the sensor button)
- Close the front door and re-start GMS
