How to export data generated by Avantage to CasaXPS

CasaXPS cannot read the *.vgd files that are generated by Avantage when a spectrum is recorded. All data from Avantage that you wish to analyze using CasaXPS must therefore be manually exported from Avantage. Below is a procedure on how to do this.

  1. You have to run the file called DataSpace_BAtchDump.exe that is a part of the Avantage installation. This means that you can run it on the K-Alpha, the Nexsa or your own computer (provided that Avantage is installed on your own PC). Depending on the Windows installation the file should be in the folder
    1. C:\Program Files\Thermo\Avantage\Bin\
    2. C:\Program Files (86)\Thermo\Avantage\Bin\
