# Comments and Suggestions to improve access to the equipments: Answers
Maybe you could create a simple software manual to check all the parameters needed before image acquisition, like image resolution, the legend, how to remove the cross on the middle of the image... Because users change all this and usually we don't realize that we need to change them back or we don't know how. style="background: lightgrey;"| Acquisition parameters always need to be adapted depending on the need. Each user should set the parameters beginning of the session. We are going to work on a short userguide to remind users of the settings.
If there could be a quick instruction on the desk would be better, sometimes I tend to forget how to calibrate for example astigmatism etc, but don't know where to find guidance. We will make a short userguide.
Train a little more. It is very hard to work well at the first measurement. Every sample is different and we don't have the capacities for extensive one-to-one training on each individual sample. But each user is welcome to come and ask for help on specific questions during the session.
Provide more regular training sessions that are advertised so users know when and how fast they can expect to get trained We are working on a partial online format to make training more flexible.
It would be nice if there is someone (for example a technician or a student) in the lab during working hours. For example, some students book the microscope at 8am but they show up 30 minutes later. New microscope users can have issues even after training and might need quick help. Contact information is found in LabManager for each microscope. We also created TEAMS user groups to interact with other users and staff. We always try to help as soon as time and other tasks allow.
Simple manual to introduce the basic operation. We have manuals for most basic techniques on the TEMs available. Especially for the Titan microscopes, these manuals are based on the more basic operation of the Tecnai microscopes, which are a pre-requisition.
The price is very important. If the price could be flexible.... Response
Workshops with info and classes for new users. Response
Similar printouts in bld. 314 as in the cleanroom (bld. 346), which could hung up near each individual equipment. The printouts from Labmanager is what I'm thinking off. Response
Send out an offer in training to newly enrolled in the position of a PhD, PostDoc, according to the profile of work. Response
Just like in the cleanroom, the Microscopy lab at B314 also needed more instructors and trainers. There should be someone to take care of the training, instead of giving the responsibilities to the students. It would be nice if there is a video intro to microscopy as well. Response
For me it was very easy to gain access, but maybe some people (especially at other faculties than physics ) are unaware of the available equipment at Nanolab. Respnse
I suggest that you make it available to cancel a booking on the same day in the LabManager system. Response
