To get SmartLab Studio II installed please install CodeMeter and SmartLab Studio II, and configure the SmartLab Studio II database.

For users of the XRD Powder, we recommend to also install the Crystallography Open Database, for material cards, and either Data Viewer or PowDLL for data conversion.

Note it is also possible to access the software by remote login to an analysis computer. See description [[Specific Process Knowledge/Characterization/XRD/HighScore analysis#Remote login to Analysis desktop|here]] as the SmartLab Studio II software is installed on the same computer.

==Install DTU Local Admin (Only on DTU computers)==
<!-- [[File:SLSII_Install_Local_Admin.gif|right|400px|caption]] -->
For installing you will need administrator privileges on the computer. On your DTU computer you can gain this by installing “DTU Local Admin” from the “DTU software center”. In DTU Local Admin you can enable a local admin account, which can be used to gain elevated privileges for installation.
*Open “DTU Software Center” and search for and install “DTU Local Admin”.
*Open “DTU Local Admin” and enable the local admin account. Note down the user (normally “.\adm-local”) and the password (randomly generated). This will be needed later.

=SmartLab Studio II=
The following items must all be installed for SmartLab Studio II to work.
==Install and configure CodeMeter==
*Open [file://///ait-pdfs/department/nlab/CleanroomDrive/_equipment/XRD/SmartLabStudioII/CodeMeterRuntime.exe Install CodeMeter (Needs DTU network)]
<!-- *Go to CleanroomDrive/_equipment/XRD/SmartLAbStudioII/ and run CodeMeterRuntime.exe to install Code Meter -->
*Use the .\adm-local account to elevate the privileges if on DTU computer.
*Use you DTU credentials to logon to the ait-pdfs file server.
*Complete the install.
*Open “CodeMeter Control Center” and click om WebAdmin.
*On the web page, click on "Configuration" at the top bar. A tab named “Server Search List” will be shown. Click on “add new Server” and type “rigaku.ait.dtu.dk” and press add.
*Click “Apply to save changes.
*You can now close the WebAdmin page and CodeMeter control center.

==Install SmartLab Studio II==

=SmartLab Studio II nice to have=
The following items are nice to have in your SmartLab Studio setup. It includes connection to the common database with users and measurements and the Crystallography Open Database (COD).
==Setting up SmartLab Studio II database==
*Open [file://///ait-pdfs/department/nlab/CleanroomDrive/_equipment/XRD/SmartLabStudioII/SQLserverConnectionSettings.exe Configure SmartLab Studio II SQL connection (Needs DTU network)]
*Use the .\adm-local account to elevate the privileges if on DTU computer.
*Use you DTU credentials to logon to the ait-pdfs file server.
*It takes a up to a couple of minutes for the program to open, be patient. (If it does not open, contact [mailto:characterization@nanolab.dtu.dk the Characterization responsible]
*When open type in the following:
**SQL Server host name: nlab-pgaudio01.win.dtu.dk
**SQL login name: RigakuDB
**Password: Renrum12
*Click Connection and wait for confirmation, the click apply.
*You can now open SmartLab Studio II and use you on credentials for logging in.

Installing XRD data analysis software

The main data analysis software available to all users of DTU Nanolab's XRD equipment is Rigaku SmartLab Studio II. This software can be installed freely on you own computer. The computer has to be on the DTU Network, either as a regular DTU computer or by VPN to obtain a network license. See description in this document - requires login.

For users of the XRD Powder, we recommend to also install the Crystallography Open Database, for material cards, and either Data Viewer or PowDLL for data conversion. See this page.

Note it is also possible to access the software by remote login to an analysis computer. See description here (requires login) as the SmartLab Studio II software is installed on the same computer.
